Installations can be customized after the initial install process. OpenSolaris Live USB Creator is as the name indicate it, is a OpenSolaris tool. This one was never modified to support Solaris distributions. Two procedures exist to transfer the image to the USB key. The first one is to use usbcopy, that is only available with an existing Solaris 11 machine.

Is it possible to create a bootable USB of Oracle Solaris 11? I don't want to install Solaris on an Oracle VM Virtual Box.

Solaris 11 is already available as a bootable live USB image.
